They're called "Academia". From what I can tell, they specialize in Fusion tactics.

Apparently, they're from another version of the Earth we are on now. They attacked, causing the commotion you heard before. They feel that they're doing this for a greater good. That they'll save everything, but what everything is, is another question in itself.
