Oooff...
[Alex is slowly coming to back in the ship. She rubs her head a little, not quick to get up. Her duel with Eliphas took a lot out of her.
She looks around. The fact that nothing is on fire makes her assume it went okay after she fell asleep.
She lets out a breath through her nose. She doesn't need to ask for Galaxy-Eyes. She knows she's there too.
They're both awake and available to speak to.]

I'm... Guessing you're still out of it then. That answers my question of how you're feeling. *he does lower his voice a bit if only to try.*

Is everybody still alive?
no subject
Yeah... Yeah, everyone's still alive.
Eliphas couldn't really do anything after that. He was too damaged. Even if he had wanted to still kill us, his repair system kicked in. He isn't able to do anything, now.

no subject
Yeah. I'm not too happy about that either.
*he gives a sigh, rubbing his head*
But the actual Astral people... seems like they're pretty aware of how out of hand Eliphas had gotten. It's why we're still here. It's why we're still alright.
... We also found out some other things too. Things you might wanna hear.

[Sigh.]
Lay it on me, I guess.
no subject
... Alright, here's the deal.
Apparently one of the Barians has been pretty much killing not only Astrals, but also other Barians, too. From what was implied... It's also why Chakram and Lancea, two other Barians, suddenly went missing a long time back, before Beagalltach and Moralltach had left.
One of the Astrals, her name is Enna. Apparently whoever this Barian is... their thoughts, their intentions are pretty much being broadcast to the Astrals, but they're so loud, they could never pinpoint them. It's one of the main reasons Eliphas freaks out so much about the Barians.
Thing is... I've got a guess out of the remaining Barians that's the problem, and I've only got a guess because there's so few of them left.

[Alex's hands, which are flat on her legs, make fists.]
Caduceus...

I guess when it's among the remaining pure Barians, she kinda sticks out like a sore thumb, doesn't she.
*he sighs*
... I hate feeling like this. Feeling like even one of them would kill any of the others... I can't stand that, but I can't stand the idea of doing the Astral's work for them, after they screwed up so much trying to resolve it themselves.
But it's because of that... That I'd rather one of us got to the bottom of this, instead of one of the Astrals. If it can happen... If the source of the problem is removed, the Astrals won't interfere if anything tries to happen with this last-ditch effort to help the remains of the Barian's world.
Since, somewhat related, but it sounds like it made a good argument to point out that the place isn't going to last too much longer to be really effective as a guard against those "demons".
no subject
...yeah...this pretty much sucks the fantastic.
[She lets out a breath.]
When we get there, I'll confront Caduceus myself. I still owe her one for some shit she tried to pull.
no subject
You sure? I mean... I don't doubt that you'd want to. That isn't up to question here. Or even the question that you'd be capable of it.
What's up to question is the fact that you were knocked off your feet after dueling down the Astrals' overseer system, essentially, so I gotta wonder how you're going to end up feeling once the swimmy feeling wears off and you have to stand back up.

I managed to get back up just fine after SOMEBODY's Over-Hundred Number cold-cocked me out of nowhere, didn't I?
no subject
Hey, hey. You know that was entirely unintentional. I didn't know that was hiding out in my soul! *... he then goes a bit more serious*
But really. If you think you'll be up to it, then I'm not going to do something like stop you. I want to make sure that, whatever happens in this, once we get to the Barian's world... That problems like these are resolved.
But I'll at least say that if I somehow end up coming across her first, I'm not going to stop myself from having a go at her either, if it comes down to it.

[She wrings her hands.]
...let's say we do fix all these problems with the Barian's world...and we deal with whoever's killing Barians and Astrals and all that stuff.
What happens, then? Between the Barians and the Astrals?
[1/2]
It's probably very optimistic to think that things will go back to how they used to be. Before the fallout between them.
If I were to think of it realistically... I think things are going to remain tense, between the Astrals and the Barians. If the one who's killing either sides is taken out, it will at least lead to an end of open hostilities. But you can't mend something like that, that's been the norm for years and years, far as I can tell, overnight. *he lets out a sigh, like, geeze. this whole situation's aggravating. it wears on you.*

But I think you can tell by now, with how those facilities reacted towards Koyo and I, and towards Labrys too... the Barians had a big part, in how the Legendary Numbers were handled and watched over. I think that's something that was lost over all of this time, and... I'm pretty sure by now that it resulted in like more than half of the facilities being pretty much destroyed, it seemed like. From age. From human interaction. It's been so long, and Beagalltach's memories can't tell me anything about the specifics of it.
But after this... Someone's going to have to at least watch over the Numbers that have no real operational place to go back to. It might manage to make a leverage point with the Astrals, since they seem like they're not very keen on keeping them, themselves. Just a wild theory.
